Dr. Maitha Buhumaid is a distinguished leader in the fields of media, marketing, and communication, currently serving as the CEO of Marketing and Communication at Dubai Media and the Secretary-General of the Arab Journalism Award Board.
With over 20 years of experience in the UAE public sector, Dr. Buhumaid has held prominent leadership positions at both federal and state levels, demonstrating a proven track record in managing strategic initiatives and delivering impactful projects.
Prior to her current role, Dr. Buhumaid served as the Director of Dubai Press Club at the Government of Dubai Media Office for six years. During her tenure, she spearheaded high-profile campaigns, including the successful EXPO 2020 media strategy, leveraging strategic partnerships with media organizations and influencers to maximize global reach. She also played a pivotal role in the management and execution of key regional events such as the Arab Media Forum, Dubai Podfest, Youth Media Forum, and the Arab Social Media Summit. Additionally, Dr. Buhumaid held the position of Director of Strategic Media Affairs at Dubai Media office, managing Dubai Government campaigns and Dubai narrative with the various Dubai entities.
Dr. Buhumaid's commitment to excellence extends beyond the media landscape. Her achievements include leading the implementation of the “Concept of Customer Satisfaction Assurance Office” at the Dubai Health Authority (DHA), pioneering patient-centric healthcare practices across hospitals and medical centers. At the Prime Minister’s Office, she was instrumental in developing the brand identity for the “Government Summit,” now recognized as the premier networking platform in the MENA region.
Academically, Dr. Buhumaid holds a Ph.D. in Total Quality Management from Hamdan Bin Mohammed Smart University, reflecting her dedication to advancing quality standards and fostering inclusive practices. She has also completed prestigious leadership programs, including the “Future Leaders Program” and the “Women Leadership Program,” further strengthening her leadership capabilities.
